OWNER RESPONSIBILITIES
Josie's Pet Services is unable and uninsured to look
after dogs outside the home or animals under the age
of 8 weeks.
All animals cared for are required to be up to date
with their vaccinations, flea and worming treatments
prior to the start of the booking, this is the
responsibility of the Owner. Whilst suitable
precautions are taken to prevent transfer of
infection and infestation any Owner who does not
adequately vaccinate and preventatively treat their
pet for fleas, ticks and worms accepts and takes
responsibility for the small risk of transfer. The
Service Provider does not accept responsibility for
any infection or infestation that occurs during or
subsequent to the booking period. There must not be
any infestation or infection present on the animal
or within the home. If an infestation and/or
infection is discovered during the booking the Owner
will be informed immediately. Reasonable lengths
must be taken to treat the problem and prevent
transfer at the cost of the Owner. The pet sitter
reserves the right to cancel the booking should the
infestation and/or infection be severe or adequate
lengths are not taken by the owner to rectify the
situation.
The Owner is required to provide a clean and safe
environment, adequate cleaning supplies, adequate
food and water in enough quantity for the full
booking, food and water bowls, litter/bedding,
litter trays, a carrier for emergencies, all
relevant medical information and the details of
their vet.
All medications to be administered are required to
be prescribed by a vet, the dosage and
administration method must be fully explained prior
to the booking start date. It is the responsibility
of the Owner to provide correct medication in enough
quantity for the full booking.
The Owner is required to inform the Service Provider
before the booking start date of any pre-existing
conditions and/or behavioural issues in order to
ensure the animal is effectively cared for and to
ensure the Service Providers own safety. It is the
Owners responsibility to keep the Service Provider
up-to date and inform the Service Provider of any
changes prior to the booking or subsequent bookings.
The Service Provider reserves the right to decline
or withdraw from any booking which does not meet the
above requirements and/or where the Service Provider
feels unsafe/at risk, and/or has concerns about the
hygiene, health and/or safety of the animal.
The Service Provider also reserves the right to
charge the Owner the total cost plus an additional
fee for any supplies that were required or were
purchased due to inadequate provisions in the Owners
home.
SERVICE PROVIDERS RESPONSIBILITIES The Service
Provider will provide care in the manner directed by
the Owner or as close as is reasonably possible.
Care information is recorded in an induction form
during the first meeting; this is kept separately
from any house key the service provider may be
holding.
Payment is due one week (7 days) prior to the start
date of the booking, payment can be made by bank
transfer or in cash on the first day of the booking
if arranged and agreed in advance. Any additional
fees incurred during the booking are due up front on
receipt of the request.
KEYS/ACCESS
Keys and/or access codes can be provided at the
initial meeting or dropped off to the Service
Providers address before the booking begins, the
Service Provider may be able to collect keys but
reserves the right to charge an additional fee for
this. Keys are kept securely and without any
identifying information. Depending on the Owners
preference the service provider will return keys at
the end of the booking or retain them for subsequent
bookings. Any keys left hidden for the Service
Provider to retrieve are left at the Owners own risk
and are not the responsibility of the Service
Provider.
The Owners home will be kept secure, ensuring
external doors are closed and locked after every
visit. It is the Owners responsibility to ensure the
Service Provider is able to gain access to the
property for every visit; if on arrival for the
booking that the Service Provider is unable to gain
access to the property the Service Provider will;
make reasonable attempts to contact the Owner,
safely, legally and with the owners permission
attempt to gain access via an alternative method.
The Service Provider reserves the right to leave the
site if attempts to contact the Owner and/or
attempts at access are unsuccessful, the Service
Provider cannot guarantee that a visit will be
conducted at an alternative time of the day; if this
is possible the Owner may incur a charge to be paid
up front.
The Service Provider will inform the Owner promptly of any
concerns about the property and/or animal/s during the
booking period. In the case of a medical emergency during
the booking period the Service Provider will seek veterinary
care. The Owner agrees to assume all financial
responsibility for any veterinary expenses.
LIABILITY
The Service Provider agrees to exercise reasonable care when
providing services. However, the Service Provider shall not
be liable for any injury, loss, or damage to the Client's
pet unless caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.
The Service Provider, (Josie Ide), is insured through Pet
Plan Sanctuary, policy number (IS52586201). This insurance
coverage is designed to provide protection in the event of
accidental injury, illness, or property damage occurring
during the provision of pet care services.
Disclaimer: The Service Provider's liability is limited to
the coverage provided by Pet Plan Sanctuary, and any claims
not covered by the insurance policy are the sole
responsibility of the Owner unless directly caused by gross
negligence or willful misconduct by the Service Provider.
